PLOT

Buster Keaton plays a bank clerk.

He does not know that the manager at the bank and his gang are planning on pulling off a robbery and hiding in an old house which they have rigged up with traps and special effects to make it appear to be haunted.

After being falsely accused of being the bank robber, Buster escapes to the local ‘haunted house’.

A rather unsuccessful  troupe of actors from a theatre production take shelter in the house and their scary costumes (ghosts, skeletons etc) lead Keaton and the gang of robbers to believe the house is actually haunted… Is it?!

Film comedian and director Buster Keaton was popular for his pioneering silent comedies in the 1920s.
Buster Keaton was born Joseph Frank Keaton IV on October 4, 1895, in Piqua, Kansas.

He was introduced to film when he was 21 and eventually directed and starred in films in the 1920s.
As legend has it, he earned the name of “Buster” when he was 18 months old, after falling down a flight of stairs. Magician Harry Houdini scooped up the child and turning to the boy’s parents shouted, “That was a real buster!”
In October 1965 he was invited to the Venice Film Festival, where he showed his latest project, Film, a 22-minute silent movie. When his presentation concluded, Keaton received a five-minute standing ovation from the audience.Keaton was toward the end of his life making more than $100,000 a year just from doing commercials and was honored in 1959 with a special Academy Award.
